Since 1975 Szczechowicz Landscape Services Inc. has provided quality landscape design and installation services for residential and commercial customers of the Massachusetts North Shore area.

Project Development & Implementation
Szczechowicz Landscape Services, Inc. landscape projects typically consist of three major phases:

1. Initial Consultation

  • • The client meets with our Landscape Designer to uncover the wants and needs of their specific property.
  • • The Landscape Designer gains an understanding of the scope of the job related to client interests, needs and property conditions.

2. Design Development

  • • A preliminary design/plan is developed based on the information gathered during the initial consultation phase, as well as through a follow-up site analysis.
  • • The design/plan is refined through subsequent conversations between the Designer and client.
  • • The completed design/plan document is presented to the client as a representation of the precise layouts of the features to be built, the specific types of materials to be used, and the identification of proposed planting(s).

3. Implementation

  • • The Landscape Designer meets with a designated Project Manager to discuss the project plan elements and timeline.
  • • The Project Manager works with the project crews and the client through each stage of the project to ensure an accurate translation of the plan in a timely fashion, in order to the client satisfaction with the project progress and results.


New Plantings and Transplanting

At Szczechowicz Landscape Services Inc. (“SLS”), we believe that planning is the key to any successful project because:

  • • A professionally designed landscape is beautiful upon its installation and becomes more beautiful as it matures.
  • • The design extends your living space and reflects your personal needs and desires.
  • • The design helps increase your properties worth.

Seed & Sod Lawns

Our Design/Build Department installs both seeded and sod lawns. The difference in the two lawn types is:

  • • A seed lawn is most economical to install but requires a couple of seasons to become established. Newly installed lawns can only tolerate low traffic usage for the first couple of months after installation.
  • • A sod lawn provides an instantly mature lawn, but is more expensive to install. For the first 2-3 weeks after installation, to allow the lawn to become established, there should only be light foot traffic.

A quality-installed lawn adds to the value of your home and increases enjoyment of your yard. For new lawns, a follow-up fertilization program is highly recommended for new lawns. To learn more, please click either of the links below:

Grading & Drainage

Prior to any landscaping project, grading and drainage problems are addressed and corrected. Poor drainage with excessive water can lead to erosion problems, plant disease and death, as well as damage to your home.

Accordingly, the Design/Build Department of Szczechowicz Landscape Services Inc. seeks to determine the underlying cause for drainage issues, then develop and install a working solution that is environmentally healthy.

Walls, Patios & Walkways

Walls, patios and walkways ( e.g.”Hardscapes”) are an integral part of creating definition in your landscape as well as in the functionality of your outdoor living space.

Szczechowicz Landscape Services Inc. design staff has been educated in both the aesthetics and engineering aspects of the installation. The hardscapes we create are built with natural and man-made materials of the highest quality. The layout and installation of paving materials is key to the creation of the unique look you want to achieve.
